Lapping tape with a section of 9mm x 1 5mmmastic should be run along the crest of the profile that is to be lapped sheet to sheet stitching screws should then be used at 600mm intervals down the lap toconsolidate the bondcreated by the lapping tape.
Fixing box profile roofing sheets.
Suitable for attaching sheet metal to steel or wood.
If installing more than one steel roof sheet in the length you will need to allow a 300mm overlap between roof sheets.
Ensure that the profile is straight using a plumb line or laser level.
When fixing through the sheet directly into a timber purlin a 32mm timber tek screw is recommended.
Our stitch screws will stitch sheet to sheet on the overlap as in diagram below.
To fix the sheets each 34 1000 box profile sheet has 6 troughs for securing we recommend you fix the sheet into trough 1 3 4 and 6.
The bottom end of the sheets you can fix in each trough to help prevent wind uplift of the sheets.
Barges corner edge flashings are again fixed through the top of the permaroof profile by using self drilling stitching screws.
Usually 10 12 fixings are fitted on either side of each 3m length of flashing at 250 300mm centres.
Box profile roof sheets should be fitted from left to right our screws are to be fixed through the lower part or valleys of the roof sheets.
The general advice for fixing is 4 5 screws across the sheets purlin we advise using 1 screw on the overlap of the next sheet.
Colour caps are used to cover the ends of fixings this allows the fixing to blend into the sheets colour.
Corrugated roofing sheets should be installed into the corrugated sheets crown using a 65mm tek screw with baz washer.
Set the first sheet upright against the framing purlins at the corner of the building with the first sheets overlap edge to the corner of the building.
Box profile sheet fixings trapezoidal or box profiled sheets should be fixed through every valley pan lowest point of the profile at every purlin with extra fixings being used at the ridge and eaves profiles for added strength.
